Golden VISA

The Golden Visa in Spain, officially known as “Visado de Residencia para Inversores”; or “Visado de Residencia para Inversores en Proyectos Empresariales”, is an immigration programme that allows foreign nationals to obtain a residence visa in Spain in exchange for investing in the country.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Investment: Applicants must make a minimum investment in Spain to be eligible for the Golden Visa. The minimum investment amount varies by category but generally includes options such as the purchase of real estate, investments in business projects, bank deposits or the purchase of Spanish government bonds, business projects, bank deposits or the purchase of Spanish government bonds.
Real Estate Investment: One of the most common options for obtaining the Golden Visa is the purchase of real estate in Spain for a minimum value. The minimum investment amount is usually significant and varies by region.
Investing in Business Projects: Investors can also obtain the Golden Visa when investing in business projects that generate employment, have an economic or scientific impact in Spain or are considered of general interest to the country.
Criminal Record: Applicants must not have a criminal record in Spain or in other countries where they have resided for the last five years.
BENEFITS
Residence in Spain: The Golden Visa allows applicants and their families (spouses and minor children) to reside legally in Spain for an initial period of one or two years which can then be renewed.
Free Movement in the European Union: Golden Visa holders can travel and move freely within the Schengen Area countries, which includes most of the countries of the EU.
Possibility of Obtaining Permanent Residence and Citizenship: After fulfilling certain requirements, such as continuous residence time, Golden Visa holders can apply for permanent residence and, ultimately, Spanish citizenship.
Access to Services and Education: Golden Visa holders and their families have access to health and education services in Spain.
